As we head into a new term, fencing work has been complete. Unfortunately the weather hasn't been kind and we have a large amount of mud about. Please send children with a change of clothes and a bag to put dirty clothing in. Although we will do our best to keep them out of it, there will always be that one.
If the gates are closed, there is a red button at the top you need to press down as you pull up. This may be a challenge for the vertically challenged so let me know and we will let you in.
Miss Singer is on leave for the next 4 weeks as she has had surgery so Mrs Johnson will be teaching in Ruma Tahi.
Our teams have a bye this week for basketball so our first game will be the week after ANZAC Day.
Looking forward to seeing all those smiling face tomorrow.
Forwarding on this message incase anyone is interested....

Subject: Filming in Punakaiki - talent request paid
Hi there,
My colleague Fraser and I are planning to come over to Punakaiki on 22 and 23 April to film Truman Track and Pancake rocks as part of an IVL funded Short Walks project out of HVU. We’ve been travelling round and filming all the walks in the Short Walk branded product set to improve visitor information and the DOC asset library for any future promotion of the walks. These 1 min videos are being added to the walk’s webpage (see examples here).
I’m on the hunt for ideally 1-2 local people per walk that might be keen to star in the video as talent and wondered if you might know anyone local - either staff or members in the community/friends/family who could be keen to be involved? Is there a community mailing list or noticeboard we could try even?
It needs to be on personal time (if they are DOC staff) and is a paid job, $400 per person for Truman track and $250 per person for Pancake rocks (shorter half day of filming).
The talent doesn’t need to speak on camera just walk the track and point at things as directed by Fraser. We are open to having a couple, parent and child or two colleagues/friends or solo person. Across this video project, because the end product will be used by the tourism industry, our goal is to try show a diverse range of ethnicities and nationalities so the videos can be relatable to an international visitor audience too. So we're particularly interested in anyone who may fit this profile.
Examples of other walks we've filmed already: Short Walks - YouTube
Filming times will be:
· Punakaiki pancake rocks walk 22 April from approx. 12-4pm
· Truman track 23 April from approx. 9am – mid afternoon
Please note athletics that was due to be held tomorrow has been postponed until Monday
